PIR motion sensors can be fitted to automatically switch lights on when someone enters the detection zone and then switch them off after the last motion is detected. Lights will not be turned on if environment is not reasonably dark.
These sensors save money and prevent wasting energy by not lighting unoccupied rooms and increase security by only activating outside lights when necessary.
